RESEARCH

CONTEXTUAL INQUIRY

Visits to art galleries helped inspire the user experience of the Apostrophe platform. The interface uses a clean, gallery-like design with white walls, track lighting, and skylights to display artwork as if it were in a real gallery.

AFFINITY MAPPING

Key insights from business research revealed issues with inventory, showcasing, payments, and user interactions. This highlighted how artists, artwork, and galleries operate and how people engage with art.

ARTIST USER

DESIGN

GALLERY

Gallery influences shaped design to make artists feel at home. The platform uses gallery-like elements such as simple lines, white spaces, and accents like stone and wood, as artists prefer minimalist design that contrasts their artwork.

ARTWORK

Artwork from artists was central to design, bringing the platform to life. Using artwork made the platform feel authentic, enhancing experience for both artists and users.

COMPONENTS

Library included buttons, colors, fonts, and other elements. Each was created to maintain simplicity and consistency throughout the platform.

PROTOTYPE

MID FIDELITY

Mid-fidelity prototypes were the foundation of basic functions and user flows. They included essential features like uploading individual art and simple filtering options.

HIGH FIDELITY

High-fidelity prototypes focused on design details and full functionality. They included high level features like bulk art upload and catalog links, resulting in a refined design.

TESTING
